An Arendal youth representative describes how a shared stage, visiting experts and an international project helped young people speak directly with adults who make decisions.

The project Politisk bombe brought young people and politicians together for a show at Arendalsuka. It combined performances with a sofa discussion, aiming to make politics both interesting and enjoyable.

The youth representative helped host the event and asked questions on stage. Through the Erasmus project, participants met young people from Iceland and several Norwegian communities. The speaker describes making close friends and gaining new opportunities.

Local work matters too. The representative praises adults in Arendal who listen to young people, and describes experts visiting the youth council to discuss schools and safety. For the speaker, useful experts are willing to hear young people's suggestions as well as share their knowledge.

The interview also asks whose voices are missing. One discussion at the event stressed the need to hear quieter children, rather than only those who readily step forward.

Practical concerns included transport to youth clubs. The conversation then turned to reports and local information about young people's lives. These could help a youth council ask whether conditions are actually improving, after the speeches and events are over.
