ChildPress reporters ask Jonas about giving every school day 15 minutes for news and reading. He supports the idea and stresses the importance of reading practice.

The reporters explain that they have already discussed their proposal with ministers and mayors. Their idea is for pupils and teachers to spend a short time each morning reading a newspaper or watching a children's news programme.

Jonas responds that time set aside for reading is valuable. He says reading helps people learn and that looking at a phone or browsing the internet is not enough on its own.

He encourages reading newspapers and books, and supports spending 15 minutes on it, or even longer.

The exchange records support for the children's suggestion. It does not announce a new rule for schools or say when the proposal might be introduced.
